8″ Double Effect Cylinder

(for wedge and industrial gate valves of 8”)

It is well known that a double-acting cylinder mounted on a wedge gate valve can cause often irreparable damage, such as breaking the collar (bayonet connection) of the wedge gate valve, or other damage that inevitably reduces the valve’s seal. All of these failures, often sudden and irreversible, result from excessive hydraulic power left uncontrolled or entrusted to a pressure control valve that often proves unreliable, failing to consistently ensure proper closing and reopening of the gate. Given these ongoing, and often costly, problems, we sought to develop a double-acting cylinder that minimizes the risk of uncontrolled failures or malfunctions.

This new double-acting cylinder was specifically designed to ensure perfect operation of the wedge gate valve. It eliminates the risk of breakage during both the closing and opening phases by directly modifying the hydraulic action, ensuring a specific force during opening and closing, while simultaneously allowing the cylinder to operate at its maximum capacity.

It is a very practical and easy-to-assemble cylinder. It is naturally constructed with materials specifically designed for its specific function, such as stainless steel and wear-resistant seals to ensure long-lasting durability. The 4″, 5″, and 6″ stroke cylinders use a Ø18 rod, while the 8″ version uses a Ø22 rod.

For optimal use, we recommend using a minimum pressure of 70-80 bar and a maximum of approximately 120-130 bar.
